Being a good neighbour

We all need to work together to ensure our community and neighbourhoods are healthy and happy places to live.

All new tenants are required to sign a Good Neighbour Agreement. We will send you a copy to sign after you have signed up.

Your Neighbourhood Manager will collect the signed form from you when they carry out their Welcome Visit and will be able to answer any questions you have.

This is the wording of the agreement we need you to sign:

This agreement is between you and Family Mosaic and sets out your rights and responsibilities as a neighbour, and also a guarantee that we will respond to resident problems quickly and effectively, delivering the best quality services, communicating with residents and investing every effort finding solutions that work.

Family Mosaic will make sure that the buildings and environment in which you live are well maintained, and kept clean and tidy. We will work closely with your local Council and Police in drawing up strategies to prevent anti-social behaviour. Residents meetings will be held to give you an opportunity to discuss any problems, and agree solutions as a community.

In turn, you will respect the community and communal areas, and agree not to act in a way that may cause offence to others. Any parking and play areas will be used responsibly by you and your family, so that they can be equally enjoyed by others in your community.

You will request written permission before keeping a pet and ensure that any pets are well cared for and do not cause a nuisance to your neighbours.

Family Mosaic will work with you to identify any problems you have, by reviewing complaints and communicating with you to ask your views. We will take appropriate action against any residents who are causing nuisance, or when they are not meeting their responsibilities outlined in their tenancy agreement or Neighbour Agreement. You will agree to report any problems that you see in your local neighbourhood and report any poor service delivery from Family Mosaic, so that we can make positive improvements to ensure that your neighbourhood is well maintained.

Your commitment

I recognise that I have obligations as well as rights. I will respect my neighbours’ right to peaceful enjoyment of their home and neighbourhood. I will act in accordance with my obligations in my tenancy agreement.

I recognise that people have different lifestyles and that these may sometimes come into conflict. If this happens, I recognise that I have a duty to resolve any conflict, if possible, through negotiation with my neighbour or by mediation through Family Mosaic and I will take reasonable steps to do so.
