Courtauld Road, London N19 (‘The Joinery’) has been shortlisted in Inside Housing’s Top 60 Developments awards for Best Designed Development of the Year.

The number of entries was higher than ever this year, so to make it this far is a huge achievement.

The development is a refurbished Victorian warehouse and new build scheme located in Islington, N19 which has provided 52 warehouse-inspired and new build apartments across a mix of tenures.

This project is part of Family Mosaic’s wider commitment to continue to provide new housing in otherwise unaffordable parts of London.

The site is the culmination of a larger project that has so far provided 132 new homes in Islington and helps to meet the needs of people who either cannot afford to buy a home, or can only afford to buy a share of it. The Joinery is the culmination of using two land-banked sites to create a new residential multi-tenure street, preceded by neighbouring Charles Street.

The site also recently won a BREEAM award in recognition of its sustainable credentials, beating off stiff competition from major developments in Alicante and Brussels.
