So what happens after you apply for a job at Family Mosaic?

This is what you can expect from us and the process that we follow.

  1. Once the job advert has closed, your application will be sent to the recruiting managers for consideration. If the recruiting manager shortlists your application, they will then advise our HR department of your shortlisting and you will receive an email notification letting you know.
  2. If you have been shortlisted, you will receive an invitation to an assessment date. In most cases, you will have the choice of several time slots on the assessment day(s) – it is first-come-first-serve in terms of candidates choosing from the available slots. If you need any further information about the assessment day, or if you need to advise us of any need for adjustments for your interview, please contact our colleagues in HR at hr@familymosaic.co.uk. At this point, you will also be advised about the types of assessment required, e.g. interview, pre-interview online tests, post-interview online tests, presentation, written test etc. You will also be advised if there is anything that you need to bring with you to the assessment on the day.
  3. On your assessment day, please ensure that you arrive in good time. If you are unable to attend or are running late, please contact the recruiting manager (if you have their telephone number), or, if not, HR by phone on 020 7089 1000 as soon as possible. Please note that it may not be possible to offer an alternative date or time for your assessment.
  4. Once all candidates have completed their assessments, HR will contact all candidates to let them know if they have or have not been successful. Feel free to ask for feedback at this point.
  5. The recruiting managers will then request HR to send a conditional offer letter to the successful candidate(s). The conditions of this offer vary depending on the job role. However, employment references and proof of your right to work in the UK are required in all cases. HR advise that candidates do not give notice to their current employer until the employment offer is confirmed.
  6. Once the conditions of the job offer have been satisfied, the candidate will be sent a confirmed offer letter by HR and a start date will be agreed. The first date of employment is normally the first day of our Family Mosaic Induction Academy – core and specific training to support our new colleagues into their job roles.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply?

All of our applications are made online using our website – in the job advert, click ‘apply now’ and it will take you to the site.

Can I submit a CV instead of an application form?

We are unable to accept CVs because we have found that the best way for our candidates to apply is by submitting an online application. Our online applications are automatically anonymised when they are sent to our shortlisting managers.

How can I find out more about the job I'm interested in?

Please send an email to hr@familymosaic.co.uk. If our colleagues in HR are not able to answer your query themselves, they will ask one of the recruiting managers for the role to provide you with the information.

I will need adjustments in my interview – is this possible?

Absolutely. If you are shortlisted for the role, please contact HR stating your name, the reference number for the vacancy and the adjustments you require and the HR officer leading on the recruitment will make any necessary arrangements.

Do you accept late applications?

Our job adverts close at 23.59 on the last day of the advert. Only in exceptional circumstances would it be possible for late applications to be accepted.

Is there a limit on the amount that I can include in my personal statement for my application?

We advise candidates that they should aim for the equivalent of no more than one A4 page for their personal statement. This should be sufficient for the majority of roles to demonstrate how you meet the criteria in the person specification for the job advert and that you are able to write succinctly.

The job advert closed over a week ago and I have not heard back if I have been shortlisted – what do I do?

We will always let candidates know if they have been successful or not at shortlisting, with an email sent to candidates when HR have been advised by the recruiting managers. If it has been more than a week since the advert has closed and you have not heard from us, please email hr@familymosaic.co.uk and one of our colleagues in HR will be able to provide you with an update.

I was not shortlisted for the vacancy – is it possible to get feedback?

We do not normally provide feedback to candidates if they have not been shortlisted as there are often many applicants at that stage.

I work for an employment agency and I am keen for my candidate to be considered for a position – who should I contact?

FOR VACANCIES IN CARE AND SUPPORTED HOUSING AREAS: If a recruiting manager is looking to consider agency candidates for a vacancy, then they will contact the relevant agencies on our Preferred Suppliers’ List (PSL) directly. We do not accept speculative applications outside of this process. If you would like to find out more about our PSL, please contact our switchboard on 020 7089 1000 and ask to speak to the Procurement Team.
