Grants and funding

The Family Mosaic Community Foundation may be able to help. Established by Maisie Sheed, who was a founder member of Family Housing Association, the Foundation provides small grants for community projects that help Family Mosaic residents. A key aim of the Foundation is to strengthen informal and formal groups of residents and help them to make a difference to their communities.

The Small Grants Programme

Tenant consultation eventOne-off grants are available for local communities, of between £100 and £2,000. The Foundation will meet up to 75% of the cost of a project.
The kind of projects the Foundation has supported include:

  • A participatory environmental project to improve the physical appearance of a deprived neighbourhood

  • Exercise class to be held each week conducted by an experienced instructor

  • After school homework club for young people

  • Sports project for young people – 5 a side football and badminton sessions

  • The development and running of a soft toy project

  • Social activities for residents in a sheltered scheme

  • Gardening Project

  • Local Fun days, Activities and Events to promote community spirit

  • Annual Activities Programme for supported schemes

  • Refurbishment of communal play area
