Update - July 2009

In October 2008, the Audit Commission visited Family Mosaic to carry out a Short Notice Inspection under new guidelines. Family Mosaic was one of the first associations in the country to be inspected in this way.

The Audit Commission looked at our repairs service as the basis that they had previously identified it as the area of service where there was most room for improvement.

The results were that the Commission found that strengths outweighed weaknesses in two areas inspected and strengths and weaknesses are in balance in the other four. The full report is available on the attached link - click here

A summary of the findings are:

  • Planned Maintenance - Strengths outweigh weaknesses
  • Responsive Repairs  - Strengths and weaknesses are in balance
  • Empty Homes - Strengths and weaknesses are in balance
  • Diversity - Strengths outweigh weaknesses
  • Value for Money - Strengths and weaknesses are in balance
  • Access and Customer Care -  Strengths and weaknesses are in balance

Brendan Sarsfield Chief Executive of Family Mosaic said,

“We are pleased that the Short Notice Inspection report has recognised the progress we are making in improving services to tenants. Whilst no surprises emerged from the inspection we are also grateful to the Audit Commission for identifying the areas we need to concentrate on to improve services further, so that we meet the standards our customers deserve.

We will be working closely with tenants to bring about the improvements they wish to see in our service provision”.
