Family Mosaic have participated in the Government funded Social Homebuy Scheme since 2006.
The scheme allows secured and assured shorthold social housing tenants on selected developments to buy their current home either outright or on shared ownership terms and conditions with the benefit of a discount.
A discount of up to £16,000 is available dependant upon the share you buy in your home and the borough your home is located.
To determine the value of the share an Independent RICS qualified valuation with comparables must be undertaken. You must pay for this valuation which will be refunded at completion.
You will incur legal expenses to undertake this transaction and therefore will need to appoint a solicitor to act for you. Care must be taken when deciding the additional share you wish to buy. You may buy a share in the property and the remainder would be on a subsidised rent or you may buy the property outright. Your service charge will be amended.
