12 May 2010 Family Mosaic to host Youth Involvement Conference on 4th June
Family Mosaic is holding a Youth Conference on 4th June for our young residents aged 13-21. The aim of this event is to launch our Youth Forum named YOOT (Youth Of Our Time) and get more young people influencing our services and having a say in local issues that matter to them.
This event is being held at the fantastic British Music Experience at the O2 arena on 4th June from 4:30 to 8:30pm .
Using state of the art interactive memorobilia you can explore how rock, pop, dance and other genres have influenced the last 60 years of British culture. Highlights include a studio where you can learn to play guitars, keyboards, drums and even mix records!
We are holding a variety of workshops including DJing,T-Shirt making and CV writing. There will be stalls on careers, youth involvement and an opportunity to find out more about apprenticeships with our contractors, as well as a stall on Family Mosaic services such as Welfare Rights, Community Investment projects and information about Housing Options.We have a great line up of entertainment including a dance performance, live music and a fashion show. There will also be our Q&A session during which young people will grill senior management and other key partners on youth related issues.
Entrance is by invitation only and places are limited to 200. Young residents need to complete a consent form signed by their parents/guardian if under 18 or a registration form if 18+.
