Trainee scheme wins TPAS award

23 Apr 2010
Support worker trainee scheme recognised for best practice

Our trainee support worker scheme was announced as the winner of the TPAS 'Best Practice' in Supporting People category earlier this month.

Following on from its short-listing in March, the training scheme was finally successful in winning the award for the South of England, presented at a glittering ceremony in Covent Garden.

The scheme provides a mix of training and job placements for service users, offering those who successfully complete the course a permanent post within the directorate.

Moira GriffithsMoira Griffiths (left), Regional Director in Supported Housing, was delighted to accept the award, commenting: "We were really delighted that the trainee scheme was recognised in this way. It is a great scheme that offers people that we support work-based training and the opportunity to get a real job with us.

The ex-trainees are all excellent support workers, with one now in an acting management position."
