Fifty young children from across Basildon took part in four 1-day art and drama workshops focusing on staying safe. 

The workshops took place in Basildon, Wickford and Billericay and were jointly funded by Family Mosaic and Basildon’s Crime & Disorder Partnership.  Theatre Resource, a professional arts company that specialise in issue-based art work, facilitated the four workshops that looked at issues of concern identified by the young people themselves.  Topics covered included road safety, drink driving, using taxis, internet safety and street robbery. 

Artwork created by the young people will be used to create postcards advising young people how to stay safe when out and about in the community.
