New mixed scheme of rented and shared-ownership homes in Islington
Local families are now benefitting from a brand new mixed scheme of
rented and shared-ownership homes developed by Family Mosaic in partnership with
Islington Council.
The six-storey block of 16 flats at Globe Court, N4, will provide accommodation for 37 people when fully occupied and is located minutes from Arsenal's landmark Emirates Stadium and Sobell Sports Centres.
The Globe site on Tollington Road, near the Emirates Stadium - once the home
of The Globe public house - had been boarded up for three years prior to its
purchase by Family Mosaic. It had also been squatted by drug users and raided
several times by the Police.
Jo Murphy says:
"Globe Court is a fantastic example of how well Family Mosaic worked with Islington
Council and our development partners to provide high quality, affordable
accommodation. This previously derelict site, a target for vandals and drug
users, is now an attractive place to live" .
14 of the flats are for rent - including two for wheelchair use on the ground
floor - and two are shared ownership.
