119 new affordable homes for Lambeth residents
Family Mosaic has breathed new life into the sites of two old Lambeth landmarks and provided much needed new affordable homes for Lambeth Residents on council waiting lists.
The Old Lambeth Hospital site in Kennington and St Saviours College in West Norwood now between them provide 119 new affordable homes for Lambeth locals including a 2 bedroom converted chapel complete with restored original stained glass windows.
Residents of the 39 part buy, part rent properties at Limelight House now on the site of Lambeth Hospital are very happy with their new homes and to be able to get their feet on the property ladder. "I couldn't be happier. Its secluded, the location is great, it’s like a little get away.” said Miss Fergusson one of the new residents - “Its brilliant, lovely layout, everything’s of a good size. I can’t wait to buy it next year!”
Mr & Mrs Kavanagh rent one of the 71 affordable Family Mosaic homes at the St Saviours College development, saying "What's not to like about a brand new house! Where we were before was a Victorian place which was old fashioned and we were always cold there and at this one we haven't even had to turn the heating on yet. The quality of the finish is very good too." A further 18 homes on Academy Place, designed as a landscaped residential square, are available for part by, part rent.
Family Mosaic was the affordable housing partner of Bellway homes at the Lambeth Hospital site and Faireview Homes at the St Saviour College development. Both developments have achieved Code 3 for Sustainable Homes achieved by using heat recovery systems for heating and hot water.
