'Handyman can' in Earls Court

08 Feb 2008
Weekly 'Handyman' service for Earls Court in London

Our repairs team has launched a new 'Handyperson' scheme aimed at improving our repairs service and reducing our repairs costs.

Working in partnership with tenant-run company Resico, we are piloting a Repairs Handyperson service in the Earls Court area.Repairs and maintenance

The aim is to reduce the need for our regular repairs contractor, Osborne, to attend to all routine minor repairs.  The handyman (Lloyd Cunningham) will be visiting each scheme on his weekly rounds and will therefore be able to spot minor repairs and rectify them.

A repair will normally be reported to him by a resident or by a Housing Officer. Lloyd has his own van provided by Resico, although most of the work will be carried out on foot, covering the 21 schemes on a weekly basis.

To ensure that we can respond efficiently to repairs that require prompt attention, the handyman will have storage for materials at two of the supported/sheltered housing schemes in the area. We would like to thank our colleagues in the supported/sheltered schemes for their support in making these facilities available to us.
