Family Mosaic in joint 'Vacant Lot' project

22 May 2009
Family Mosaic and Groundwork are delighted to announce they have secured Big Lottery funding for a Vacant Lot project on selected estates in Hackney.

‘Vacant Lot’ is a joint three year project run by local charity Groundwork with Family Mosaic and other social landlords.

Groundwork will provide expertise and guidance to help Hackney residents grow their own food and plants on vacant areas of their estate. Residents will also learn how to make Vacant Lots viable after the three year project has ended.

Residents will own a small bed in which they can grow anything they wish, those interested will be provided with accredited training in community gardening.

Residents at Geneva Court, William Bullough Court, Alva Court, Shire Court, Curlew Court or Heron Court interested in taking part in vacant lot should call Tom Gardiner on 07836 538 922.
