Young people produce multi-cultural recipe book
Young residents in Waltham Forest helped
put together a cookery book of recipes from around the world, to encourage
healthy eating and promote cultural diversity in the borough.
Supported by Family Mosaic in partnership with Waltham Forest Education Business Partnership, students at Willow Brook Primary School collected recipes from home, bringing a diverse range of meals to cook.
The selected recipes were then sent to NVQ Catering students at Waltham Forest College, who cooked the meals using around 95% Fair Trade and organic ingredients.
Pupils at George Mitchell Secondary School then produced the cookery book with the help of local design agency CPI.
250 copies of the ‘Little Book of World Food’ have been printed, which are selling fast for £5 each, and the proceeds will go to Challenge 2012 Charity. If you would like a copy please contact Anya Fearn, Community Regeneration Co-ordinator, on 020 7089 1254
The production of the book was also supported by Konica Minolta and Barclays Bank
