Young residents in Larkhall, Stockwell and Kennington can learn how to dance Bollywood, Belly Hip Hop, Bashment, Salsa, Soca and Street Dance.

Through our partnership work with the Larkhall Consortium and Sport Action Zone in Larkhall, Stockwell and Kennington we were made aware of these events and short classes organised by the U can Dance Studio. We would like to encourage our young residents who enjoy dance and eager to learn new things to take part in those new activities in the Borough.

Completing Application Forms, Personal Statements and Understanding of Short Listing process – will be held 08/05/15

This 1 day course will explain and demonstrate how to prepare personal statements of high standard, tailoring it to role, organisation and sector. It will also provide you with insight into how the employers view personal statements and use it to short list candidates. The session will cover what to include in personal statements, how to follow person specifications, use good examples to demonstrate experience and qualities etc. The workshop will also cover ways to write effective formal cover letters to accompany CVs, application forms and brief cover letters for online applications too.

This course will cover:

• Things to focus on whilst preparing a personal statement
• ‘Essentials’ and ‘Desirables’
• Content – what to include and not to include
• Tailoring personal statements to job adverts - use of language and examples
