24 Jun 2010 Young people from Essex work with ITV to highlight domestic violence issues
Two young people from Family Mosaic schemes in Chelmsford and Colchester have been working with ITV Fixers since September 09, to highlight the issue of domestic violence.
They were passionate about raising awareness among other young people in the community, and they have created an information leaflet and a short film. They hope to continue the good work by now creating an information 'pack' to give to young people.
ITV Fixers were impressed with their project and came to Bramble Court to create the short film and take pictures for their leaflet. The resulting film will be aired 1st July on ITV News at around 6 o'clock.
One of the young film-makers said, "I hope I have shown that I can help other young people who are experiencing any kind of abuse to speak out as there are a lot of people out there who can help. Our leaflet is reaching young people in the area and I am proud our film is going to be shown on ITV."
