Clients in North Essex showcased their artistic talent recently exhibiting a fantastic range of paintings, sketches and models at North Essex's Mental Health Services open day.

Organised by both staff and service users, the day also provided a great opportunity to promote our services to external agencies who attended the event.

The artists were thrilled to display their work, giving them the opportunity to talk about their pieces, share their experiences of supported accommodation and mix with unfamiliar faces from the wider community.

Attendees were so impressed with the artwork that mental health awaresness organisation, Health in Mind, was interested in displaying some of the work in a local hospital, whilst Brendan Sarsfield, who also attended, was keen to commission some pieces for our offices.

Following suggestions from the service users who took part, we are looking at facilitating similar events in future where artists will produce work to a specific agreed theme.
