It’s not easy to get on the property ladder, but there are options available that may make it easier.

To give you a helping hand the council has organised Islington’s Affordable Home Ownership Show where you can find out about all the schemes on offer. You will be able to talk to solicitors and financial advisors. Council tenants will also have the opportunity to talk to HFI staff about a new affordable scheme called Social HomeBuy. This allows you to buy as little as 25% of your home on a part-rent, part-buy basis, with the option to increase this up to 100%. You could receive up to £4000 to help you cover the fees and costs of buying a home.
