21 Oct 2010 Family Mosaic and Lewisham Council announce phase 1 demolition and construction
Family Mosaic and Lewisham Council were delighted to announce the demolition and construction work for Heathside and Lethbridge Phase 1 has begun at an evening event attended last week.
Attended by Lewisham's mayor Steve Bullock, David Lunts from the HCA, Richard Blakeway from the GLA, local councillors, and more importantly local residents, the evening heralded a significant achievement for all involved and was marked with a 'turning the sod' ceremony on Blackheath Hill.
The evening also served as opportunity to view design proposals for the subsequent building phases which will dramatically transform the Heathside and Lethbridge area over the next eight years.
The evening also celebrated the appointment of 17 year old Fabian Ray, Heathside resident, as a Management Apprentice appionted by by the contractor, Rydon (right, middle).
A delighted Fabian commented: “I’ve lived on the estate all my life. I know everyone who lives here. The new estate is going to be such a positive thing to happen to this area. I want to see the change, but I also wanted to be a part of it too. I’m really happy that Rydon and Family Mosaic spotted my potential and offered me the chance to learn on their Management Apprenticeship Scheme.”
