Housing Minister Grant Shapps recently stated "social housing as we know it has to change."

As a result our Board is questioning whether our social purpose also has to change.

This isn't an either/or question. We have to build more new homes, we must improve our services, add value to the communities and improve peoples' capacity and ambition.  The question is -  how do we prioritise between these competing strategic objectives?

Do we want our tenants to stay with us or to move on?  With less money, clarity of purpose is essential.
