Family Mosaic expands social care provision

20 Jul 2011

In Touch Care and Support joins Family Mosaic

Family Mosaic Housing is expanding its social care provision through the transfer of the registered charity ‘In touch' from The Hyde Group.

The 'win-win' acquisition brings 120 contracts, 4,200 clients, and another 500 staff into the Family Mosaic organisation.

There will be no change to the day-to-day service for clients or loss of support staff as they will also move across with In Touch to Family Mosaic along with the existing contracts with local authorities.

This leaves Hyde to focus on its core offer of housing services and support to individuals to transform their lives. The social and economic regeneration services provided by Hyde Plus will continue to be available to Hyde residents.

Family Mosaic CE Brendan Sarsfield says:

“We are delighted to be expanding our social care provision with the purchase of these services from Hyde. Supported Housing is very important to Family Mosaic. We are proud of the important services we provide to the most vulnerable. But these are hard times in the sector and we believe you need to have a large and varied portfolio of contracts to thrive. In Touch will help us achieve this. In Touch also has an excellent reputation and we have seen the quality of its services first hand. Together we expect to improve services and grow even more, giving greater stability to staff, service users and commissioners."

The transfer completes on 1 August 2011.
